Radiation Therapy Prayer


Times: Weekday mornings from December 5-22 between 7-10 am EST
Prayer Points:
  1. Please pray that Cade would experience the Lord shading him while he is alone in the radiation treatment room. We are using Psalm 121, particularly verses 5-8 for radiation prayer each morning.  “The Lord is your keeper;  the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”
2. We have had several people get pictures of consuming fire, so we are praying that these radiation beams are precise and exacting, and his cancer cells are consumed by the fire of God. (Hebrews 12:29)
3. We are praying that Cade would sense the presence of God with him while he is undergoing treatment and that even the radiation technicians would sense that Someone is hovering close by Cade, guarding him from harm. Daniel 3:25: “ He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."

4. Please pray for all of Cade’s other organs- especially his heart, stomach, intestines, and lungs, are not injured during this treatment. Cancer tissue cannot repair itself, so please pray that as the beams touch each tumor in his lungs, that the cells will die quickly and completely and never ever return.
5. Please pray that the Lord would be the one fighting these cancerous cells. Psalm 35 is one of my favorite Psalms to pray for him during these treatments.  “ Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me;   fight against those who fight against me! Take hold of shield and buckler and rise for my help! Draw the spear and javelin  against my pursuers! Say to my soul, “I am your salvation!” Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life. Let them be turned back and disappointed who devise evil against me! Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the Lord driving them away! Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the Lord pursuing them!”
 6. We are praying for Cade to literally have divine revelation while he is undergoing these treatments, as they use a drug to help sedate him. Please pray that even in sleep, his heart would instruct him, like Psalm 16:7. Jesus tells his disciples in Matthew 18:10: "See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven." Please pray that Cade is surrounded by angels, who are glowing with the radiating glory that comes from God's face. It's Biblical. Cade has an angel that sees God's face every day. WHAT THE HECK. COME LORD!

    Praying for Cade from Texas. Praying and petitioning the Lord forchis healing. Saw Jesus signature on the petition written with his blood. Believing in the power of God to heal his body with no injury to any other part of his body in the precious name of Jesis

    Praying Isa 31:5 The Lord Almighty will Shield Cade. He will shield him and deliver him, he will passover him and rescue him. To shield is to protect as a defense. To deliver is to release, save, to carry out as promised. Passover is to permit to complete successfully and rescue is to free, deliver. Praying for all of you.

Week 6 Chemo

Cade is doing great! I've been drinking up these precious, normal life days in all their fullness. It's amazing how this whole experience has increased our capacity to feel joy. In every sense, we are more aware and alive to the gift of life. We are still completely amazed at how unscathed he was by this past five day treatment. Fasting Tuesday Week #22: The Shadow of the Most High

This week is scan week, and I know people must be praying because the peace we both feel is ridiculous. Cade has enjoyed a week of being so normal- running, playing, sweating, soccer, playgrounds. All of the things I once took for granted feel like a privilege and a gift. Thursday morning we will go in for a chest CT scan and a meeting with our oncologist. If the spots remain, we will have surgery in the next two weeks to remove them and get pathology. Everything hinges on the results of the pathology, and we are praying that every single cell is dead. We got to spend time with friends on Sunday night celebrating how faithful God has been through this process. It was so encouraging, and so good for me to stop and look back and realize all that God has done. It reminds me of the story where Jesus healed 10 leperous men and only one returned to thank him. Food for Thought

One of my favorite places to eat in college (along with every other Baylor girl) was a little hole in the wall restaurant called Food for Thought. I think I basically went for the frozen yogurt. In all of my trips back to Baylor the past eight years I've never made it there again. Which is sad. Waco has been touched by Fixer Upper though so too many new things draw my attention.  I wanted to blog today just some verses, prayers, podcasts, songs that have been food for our thoughts lately. I always wondered on the outside of trials in other peoples' lives what they thought about, how they managed. I couldn't fathom walking through things, and I have a pretty vivid imagination so I was always attempting to walk in their shoes. This situation has me realizing no two people face trials similarly.
