It's another fasting Tuesday around our house and we are excited to have you with us! Cade wrapped up his second to last 5 day intensive chemo this past Friday. It is THRILLING to know that we only have one more on the protocol to finish. Of the 13 weeks we have left, only 3 are chemo groups that lower his counts. The rest are either off or smaller chemo groups with less side effects. That is good news!
We had a great weekend, filled with lots of normal family activities and a trip to the zoo in the rain. Cade was doing better than we had ever seen him do, until Sunday night when he began to get sick. We aren't sure what's causing it, but we certainly are praying that today he stops getting sick, and is able to keep ALL of his food down and eat normally.
Usually after these 5 day treatments we have historically been admitted for a fever by Thursday of this week. We are hopeful that with this dose reduction he either will not be admitted, or will not have a long stay. His little sister Haven has a fever, however, and seemed pretty miserable all yesterday. With all of that said, here are some pretty basic prayer needs we have this week:
1. Please pray that Cade's body stops throwing up food and that he can eat and enjoy food again. He ate SO well all of last week, and even kept his weight up during that treatment. Please pray he stays fat and flourishing. I love this verse below because of the reference to healing and the idea of well-fed calves. Cade kind of reminds me of one, with all of his energy and long limbs. I'm praying he gets to "go out and frolic" and look well-fed.

"But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves." Malachi 4:2
2. Please pray that Cade does NOT end up running a fever in the next few days. We are praying that he can get the blood products he may need in our weekly visits to the hospital, and can avoid another inpatient stay altogether. That would be AMAZING.
3. Please pray that Haven's body is healthy and she does not pass anything along to Cade. Siblings have been a big fat gift for Cade, helping him remember to play, be a boy, and love life. We are just praying that she doesn't share her germs with him.
Thank you for all of your prayers! Here is our video devo for week #6!
Standing with you all in prayer. Declaring Cade's healing and complete recovery in Jesus name!
